Tragedy strikes Vipers SC as Nigerian forward Abubakar Lawal passes away

The Ugandan football community is in mourning following the sudden passing of Vipers Sports Club Nigerian forward Abubakar Lawal.
The 27-year-old centre forward met his untimely demise in a motorcycle accident along Entebbe Road on Monday.
Lawal, born on September 3, 1995, had been an integral part of Vipers since joining the club in 2022. This season, he made eight appearances in the Uganda Premier League, although he was yet to register a goal or assist. In the previous campaign, he featured in seven matches and scored twice, showcasing his potential as a clinical finisher.
Before joining Vipers, Lawal had a stint with AS Kigali in Rwanda and played for Nigerian sides Nasarawa United and Wikki Tourists.
His experience and skillset were valuable assets to the team, and his passing leaves a significant void.
Lawal’s sudden and tragic demise is a devastating blow to Vipers Sports Club and the football community at large.
