The small, big team cold war between KCCA FC and Kitara is finally closed
A signature 2-0 win for KCCA FC over Kitara FC at Lugogo this Friday evening, the 27th September 2024 has closed a recently fueled verbal exchange between the two sides.
A goal in either halves for Saidi Mayanja and forward Derrick Nsibambi has earned the Abdallah Mubiru coached side a comfortable home win.
Played in front of a huge crowd under floodlights, Saidi Mayanja Scored an early 11th minute goal to send KCCA FC into a halftime 1-0 lead off a Shafic Nana Kwikiriza brilliant ball.
With unmatched calmness, Nsibambi rounded off goalkeeper Kusiima before he comfortably slotting home KCCA’s second and the winner.
Before the game, KCCA FC head coach Mubiru started a cold war when he stated that Kitara is not a big team and they were just hyped and on form.
His statements were sour music tunes to Kitara FC camp and it was the talk around town all week.
This has pulled fans from all corners to fill the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo to capacity to witness who would win the war.
The win over Kitara pushed the Kasasiro Boys to the second position on the 16 team UPL log with seven points, two a drift of table leaders NEC who are on nine points after three games.
On the other hand, the Royals have remained seventh on the table with three points after losing back-to-back games to the current top two sides NEC and KCCA.
KCCA will visit their bogey side Bright Stars at Kavumba for their next game on October 1st as Kitara will host newly promoted Police in Butema, Hoima on October 3rd .
