The inaugural National Karting championship successfully climaxed in Lubowa

Formula One Association of Uganda successfully held the inaugural National Karting championship that attracted 24 racers across three categories.

However, out of the 24, the championship attracted only three female racers.

Held at Lubowa racing facility, the event was on Saturday, the 31st August 2024.

This was the third and final round of the championship with three categories of Super pro class, Cadets and female cadets.

In the Super pro class, Roy Young won the final round event making the fastest time of 34:301. Henk Kawooya was second on 34:382 as Sadam Mbabali finished third with a time of 34:505.

However, the Simba rally team’s fourth placed Kevin Bebeto (34:589) was the overall National champion after the three rounds.

Bebeto won the first and second rounds held in Bugolobi before finishing 4th in the 3rd and final round.

He gathered 50 points to win the national title. In the second place was Dylan Kutoosi on 37 points while Kavan Garcha with (32) finished third.

Eli Rwanika won the Cadet category championship with 52 points collected from the three rounds.

Rwanika beat Lian and Joseph Rainer in the second and third places on 30 and 20 points respectively.

Meanwhile, Patricia Favor is this year’s National Champion for the female cadet category.

Patricia on 21 points beat a tight competition from Eyra Rainer (20) and Tasleem Garcha on 15 points in the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
