The 2026 Wakiso District Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Basketball Championship has reached its climax, with the stage now set for the highly anticipated finals following gripping semi-final action held on Monday, 23rd March 2026 in Wakiso.
Reigning champions St. Noa Girls Secondary School – Zana delivered a commanding performance to defeat Buddo Secondary School 49–34 in a thrilling semi-final contest, booking their place in yet another final against long-time rivals St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School – Kitende.
This marks an extraordinary seventh consecutive Wakiso District final appearance for St. Noa, all of which have been against Kitende, underscoring one of the fiercest rivalries in school basketball.
Historically, Kitende holds a slight edge with four victories compared to St. Noa’s three.
However, momentum currently favors St. Noa, who have clinched the last two titles in 2024 and 2025.
In the other semi-final, St. Mary’s Kitende showcased their class with a dominant 47–22 victory over Zana Mixed Secondary School, comfortably advancing to the final.
On their path to the semi-finals, St. Noa—who are the reigning Wakiso District, National, and East African champions—registered the most emphatic quarter-final result, dismantling Exodus College – Wakiso 43–10.
Kitende, on the other hand, secured their semi-final berth with a convincing 36–10 win over Kisubi Mapeera.
In the boys’ category, Mbogo Mixed edged past Elite High School in a tightly contested encounter, winning 37–34 to reach the final.
Buddo Secondary School also advanced after a dominant 42–11 triumph over Kisubi Mapeera.
The finals for both the boys’ and girls’ categories are scheduled to take place this evening at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso, promising an electrifying conclusion to this year’s championship.
