St. Noa and Rines SS set for USSSA Wakiso Zone girls football final rematch

The stage is set for a thrilling rematch in the 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Wakiso Zone Girls football final, as St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana and Rines SS will once again face off after last year’s encounter.
St. Noa secured their spot in the final with a convincing 3-0 semi-final victory over Tagy High School.
Brenda Nassaka opened the scoring with a tap-in from Sumayiah Nalumu’s cut, while Patricia Nayiga doubled the lead from the penalty spot just before halftime.
Gigantic forward Esther Babirye sealed the win with a powerful header from a corner kick, sending St. Noa to the final.
In the other semi-final, Rines SS edged out Aidan College 1-0, thanks to Angel Ainembabazi’s first-half goal.
This sets up an exciting final against St. Noa, with both teams looking to claim the championship title.
Both teams have demonstrated impressive form throughout the tournament.
Rines SS, coached by Ismail Mukiibi, thrashed Fairway 4-0 in the quarterfinals, with Justine Ayerango scoring a hat-trick and Jovia Nakirya adding a goal.
They had earlier won 6-0 over Mary’s Mount SS in the round of 16, with Ayerango scoring four goals and Harima Mupyanga adding two.
St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, meanwhile, dominated Standard High School-Zzana 6-0 in the quarterfinals, with Esther Babirye scoring twice and Sylvia Kabene, Imelda Kasimire, Sumayiah Nalumu, and an own goal contributing to the win.
In the round of 16, St. Noa eased past MT. Venon 4-0, with Patricia Nayiga scoring a brace and goals from Sylvia Kabene and Nancy Mandera.
The final will take place on Tuesday, April 15th, at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso, promising an electrifying conclusion to the tournament.
