St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, Bethel Covenant win the 2022 JOVOC championship
East African girls basketball reigning champions St Noa’s Girls Secondary School-Zana and Bethel Covenant emerged winners of the 9th edition of the Jovok Basketball championship.
The 2022 Jovok basketball Championship was played on Saturday, 5th March at St. Joseph’s High School courts in Mbarara.
St Noa’s senior team the Jewels beat their junior side the Pearls 26-13 points to emerge champions in the girl’s category.
Whilst in the boy’s category, Bethel Covenant was also crowned champions after a 27-12 win over 2019 winners Ndejje Secondary School.
The tournament attracted 14 Secondary Schools which the organizers said was quite low turn up compared to previous championships.
In the girls category, St. Noa Girls Secondary Schools-Zana, Ndejje SS, Kyebambe Girls, Maryhill, St. Mary’s and Rushoroza featured in this edition.
Boys teams included Bathel Covenant, Ndejje SS, Natare, Kabaale Trinity, Muntuyera, Nakivale, Mbarara High, St. Mary’s Rushoroza, Kitovu and the host JOVOC
