She Cranes Bounce Back Strong: Uganda Netball team secures semi-final spot after dominant win over Zimbabwe

Uganda’s She Cranes have bounced back from a shaky start to the 2025 Africa Netball Championship, securing a commanding 59-38 win over Zimbabwe’s Gems in Lilongwe, Malawi.

The victory, which came after a nail-biting 46-45 win over Kenya Divas on Monday, has restored confidence in the team’s title credentials.

Head coach Rashid Mubiru’s tactical changes paid off, with Kadondi Faridah and Norah Lunkuse making a significant impact in the game.

The She Cranes dominated the second half, scoring 19 goals while limiting Zimbabwe to just seven, effectively sealing the contest.

Ayaa Gloria led the charge with four steals, while Margaret Baagala, Shadia Nassanga, and Shaffie Nalwanja also impressed.

The victory secures Uganda’s place in the semifinals with a game to spare, and they will face Namibia on Thursday.
