Seroma Christian High School are 2025 National Swimming Gala double champions 

In a stunning upset, Seroma Christian High School in Mukono has claimed its first-ever national trophy in girls and the second for boys at the 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Swimming Gala.

The hosts dominated both the boys’ and girls’ categories, outshining favorites Agha Khan and BSK Rafters, respectively.

According to team captain Quentin Muwanguzi, unity and discipline were the keys to their success.

“We’re grateful for the tireless efforts and perseverance of our teammates,” he said.

“We look forward to building on this achievement and securing spots on the FEASSA team.”

Seroma’s overall winning margins were impressive, with 411 points in the boys’ category, followed by Agha Khan with 371 points and GreenHill with 312 points.

In the girls’ category, Seroma took the top spot with 406 points, ahead of BSK Rafters (380 points) and Agha Khan (323 points).

The event drew 450 athletes from 24 schools nationwide, competing in four strokes: Breaststroke, Backstroke, Freestyle, and Butterfly.

The top performers are set for selection to the 30-member Ugandan team, set to compete at the 2025 FEASSA Games in Kakamega, Kenya, from August 12th to 23rd.
