Philanthropism: St. Mary’s Kitende, Hardware World part of ABU convention sponsors
St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School – Kitende and Hardware World have given a hand to Uganda Professional Boxing Commission to foster Africa Boxing Union (ABU) convention preparation.
For the third time, Uganda will host the ABU affiliate members convention at Hotel Africana from the 18th to 23rd August. The last time Uganda hosted the convention was 2018.
The Kitende based school and Hardware World sponsored the event with ten million (10M) each, making it 20M in total.
Known as the most genuine sports investor in the country, Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa has hugely poured money into Schools Sports, club football, Netball, Basketball and has produced many prayers to the national teams and professional ranks.
Meanwhile, Hardware World is one of Uganda’s leading hardware supermarkets that have boosted the development of real estate in the country.
The 2024 Africa Boxing Union (ABU) convention has today 1st August launched at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
The convention will attract all professional boxing national bodies from across the continent.
The five day events will run from 18th – 23rd August 2024. Series of activities ranging from ring officials; agents and promoters’ seminar and a long list of bouts at the climax.
The two day promoters and agents seminar will run from 20th to 22nd. The weigh in for the fights will be held on 22nd before the box off on 23rd .
World Boxing Council (WBC) and ABU will provide technical facilitators to handle technical issues in the area of Agents and promoters’ seminar.
