In a shocking turn of events, NEC FC head coach Hussein Mbalangu has been suspended for two months due to his involvement with Ssingo in the 2025 Masaza Cup.
Mbalangu’s suspension comes on the heels of a disappointing start to the season, with NEC FC crashing out of the CAF Confederation Cup and managing only two draws in their league games against URA FC and Police FC.

The suspension, confirmed by NEC FC, will see Mbalangu’s assistant coach, James Odoch, take the reins in the interim as the club prepares to officially announce Bosco Dudu as head coach.
Odoch will face a tough task in reigniting the team’s spark as they prepare to face Entebbe UPPC FC on Saturday, October 25, at Bugonga Fisheries Grounds.
Mbalangu’s suspension is a significant blow to NEC FC’s title ambitions, with the team struggling to find consistency in their performances.
The Die Hards’ inability to hold onto leads has been a major concern, as evident in their 2-2 draw with Police FC last Saturday.
In a recent development, Dudu Bosco has been appointed as the new head coach of NEC FC, effective immediately. Bosco brings a wealth of experience to the team, having previously coached Calvary Midigo and Paidha Black Angels.
His appointment is seen as a move to regroup and refocus the team under his leadership.
