A defining narrative is unfolding at the 2026 Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) Solidarity Games, where Namagabi Secondary School have emerged as the standout force, storming into both the girls’ and boys’ volleyball finals following a pair of gripping semi-final performances at Malukhu Grounds.
In the girls’ competition, Namagabi produced one of the most dramatic comebacks of the tournament to overcome Nabisunsa Girls’ School in a pulsating five-set encounter.
Having fallen behind after losing the opening two sets 21–25 and 23–25, Namagabi recalibrated with remarkable composure and dominance.
They stormed back to claim the next three sets 25–6, 25–12, and 15–7, sealing a stunning 3–2 victory that underlined both resilience and tactical maturity.
The result signals a strong statement of intent from a side that finished runners-up in the previous edition, where Kinaawa High School Mugongo claimed the title under a round-robin format.
Kinaawa have once again booked their place in the final, earlier dispatching Mbogo High School 3–1 in a controlled semi-final display. T
hey comfortably took the first two sets 25–15, 25–15, briefly stumbled in a closely fought third set 24–26, before reasserting dominance to close out the match 25–15.
In the boys’ category, Namagabi maintained their impressive momentum with a commanding straight-sets victory over Bugembe Islamic Secondary School.
With scores of 25–15, 25–19, and 25–16, they cruised into the final without conceding a single set, reinforcing their credentials as serious title contenders.
Awaiting them in the boys’ final are defending champions Mbogo Mixed Secondary School, who were pushed to the limit in a tense semi-final showdown against Masaka Secondary School.
In a fiercely contested five-set battle, Mbogo edged through 3–2—winning 25–18, losing 22–25, edging the third 26–24, falling again 17–25, before narrowly clinching the decider 16–14.
The stage is now perfectly set for a thrilling climax.
Namagabi’s girls will face defending champions Kinaawa High School Mugongo in what promises to be a high-quality final, while the boys’ contest pits Mbogo Mixed’s experience against a fearless Namagabi side determined to complete a historic double.
