Jovia Nakagolo delivered a match-winning masterclass, striking twice in the dying minutes to propel Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC to a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over Amus Women Football Club in Bukedea.
With the contest slipping away, Nakagolo rose to the occasion when it mattered most.
She first restored parity in the 85th minute, reacting quickest to a rebound after goalkeeper Elizabeth Atieno failed to deal with Sharifah Nakimera’s high delivery.
Moments later, she squandered a one-on-one chance, but her resolve remained unshaken.
Deep into stoppage time, Nakagolo sealed her heroics. Meeting Nakimera’s well-weighted free kick, she calmly slotted home to complete her brace and ignite wild celebrations, securing three crucial points that keep Kawempe Muslim atop the standings on 39 points, just ahead of She Corporate.
Earlier, Amus had taken a surprise lead inside five minutes through Doreen Aujat, who beat Nakimera before finishing clinically to hand the hosts a halftime advantage.
Kawempe’s persistence ultimately paid off, as they claimed their first-ever away win at Amus College, having previously settled for two draws at the venue.
Elsewhere, She Corporate maintained pressure with a 2-1 win over Makerere University, while Kampala Queens defeated St. Gerald 2-0, with Peace Muduwa and Joan Ainembabazi on target.
