MUBS Aims to Regain Glory at Taifa International Open

The 5th edition of the Taifa International Open Woodball Championship 2025 is set to take place at Mt. Kenya University in Nairobi, Kenya, from June 27 to 30, 2025.
Organized by the Kenya Woodball Federation, this prestigious tournament is one of the largest woodball contests on the African continent.
MUBS Preparations Underway
Makerere University Business School (MUBS) is gearing up to participate in the championship, having finished third in both boys’ and girls’ categories in the previous edition.
The Nakawa-based university won gold medals in the Fairway Competition singles event through Edison Twesigye and Cindy Eyoru Mercy.
Improved Lineup
The MUBS team is set to travel with an improved lineup of mixed experience, determined to turn around their victory and defend their international tour record on the African continent.
Last year’s third-place finish was attributed to a collision with the Woodball World Cup National Team Trials, which saw most MUBS senior players remain behind to attend trials.
Previous Winners
The previous event was won by Taifa Stars Woodball Club with 5 medals (3 Gold & 2 Silver) in men’s category, and Mount Kenya University with 5 medals (2 Gold & 3 Bronze) in ladies’ category.
MUBS’ Determination
According to the team’s lead player, Robert Mutiibwa, MUBS is determined to turn around the results and defend their glory at the international level.
“We’re looking forward to turning around the results as previous champions and bringing back the MUBS glory at the international level,” Mutiibwa said.
With a strong lineup and determination, MUBS is poised to make a strong impression at the Taifa International Open and regain their glory in the woodball championship.
