The 2025 edition of the Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series has been launched at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo, Kampala, with a significant increase in prize money for the winning teams.
The series, in association with FUBA and Red Rhino Sports, will feature four stops across the country, culminating in a grand finale that will bring together the best teams from each stop.

The winning teams at each stop will receive UGX 500,000, while the winners of the final will take home UGX 2,000,000.
The runner-up teams at the final will each receive UGX 1,000,000.
Cash prizes will also be awarded to the best individual players at each stop and the final.
The Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series will have four qualifying stops in Kampala, Mukono, Gulu, and Mbarara.
The top teams at each stop will qualify for the final, scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025. Participation is open to all basketball players under 25 years, with a registration fee of UGX 20,000 per team.

In the first edition, the championship titles were claimed in thrilling fashion, with St. Noa emerging as the Ladies’ champions and Cole World taking home the men’s crown.

In the ladies’ final, St. Noa’s formidable team, consisting of Anyango Maxine, Nanangwe Resty, Namayanja Bushira, and Atek Zoe, dominated the competition, ultimately triumphing over team 3-Peat with a score of 16-11.
Their victory earned them a well-deserved trophy and a cash prize of UGX 2,000,000.

Meanwhile, in the men’s category, Cole World secured a hard-fought win against team VBL, edging them out 16-14 in the final.
This impressive victory netted them the championship trophy and a cash prize of UGX 2,000,000.
This year, the teams must consist of four players, with a maximum of two National Basketball League players and a minimum of two Ugandan nationals.
Speaking at the launch, Mountain Dew Brand Manager Namutebi Grace expressed her excitement about the series, saying, “Mountain Dew is an urban, hip brand that has been associated with basketball for a long time. We are excited to be a part of this 3×3 Series that will be taking place across the country, bringing both our brand and the sport closer to the grassroots.”

Red Rhino Sports Director Akwech Samuel added, “The UG3x3 series is yet another platform to develop and showcase their skills, entertain fans, and win great prizes.
We thank Mountain Dew for being a part of this and we look forward to a thrilling tournament that showcases the best youth basketball skills in the country.”
FUBA General Secretary Hudson Ssegamwenge welcomed the tournament, saying, “FIBA and FUBA have long identified 3×3 as one of the ways to grow the game of basketball in Uganda.
We are therefore excited to have Red Rhino Sports and Mountain Dew on board to help grow and advance this variation of the sport.”
