MMU’s Scrabble Squad Shines Bright at AUUS Games 2025

Mountain of the Moon University (MMU) made a resounding statement at the AUUS Games 2025, showcasing their intellectual might in the Scrabble competitions.

The team’s impressive performance was anchored by standout individuals who brought home a haul of medals, cementing MMU’s position as a force to be reckoned with in university Scrabble.

In the men’s individual category, MMU’s Joseph Kamya Mwito secured a respectable bronze medal, while Muhanguzi Jonathan of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) took home the gold.

The women’s contests saw MMU dominate, with Pricilla Muzaki and Mariam Kyomugisha claiming silver and bronze medals, respectively.

MMU’s success was not limited to individual performances, as the team also excelled in the team awards.

The women’s squad captured the gold medal, edging out stiff competition from MUST and Kyambogo University (KYU).

The men’s team earned a hard-fought bronze, behind MUST and Makerere University (MAK).

The AUUS Games Scrabble contests were marked by tense rounds and tactical wordplay, but MMU’s players demonstrated exceptional focus and determination.

Their success in the women’s events signals the university’s rising prominence in Uganda’s university Scrabble scene and sets a strong precedent for future competitions.

With their impressive medal haul, MMU has firmly established themselves as a powerhouse in Scrabble, blending strategic thinking with team cohesion to leave a lasting mark on the AUUS Games 2025.
