In a thrilling 2024 Masaza Cup final, Buddu registered a slim 1-0 win over a bogy Kyaggwe to be crowned champions.

This became their (Buddu) third title following their 2016 and 2022 triumphant campaigns.

Graced by the Kabaka of Buganda His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi Kimera II in a fully packed Namboole Stadium on Saturday the 2nd, clinical Buddu reap frogged wasteful Kyaggwe .

Buwambo United’s Mike Walaga scored in the 22nd minute heading on a well-delivered ball by captain Pius Ssebulime.

In attendance was National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, who received a massive ovation when his image appeared on the stadium’s big screen.

This became Buddu’s third Masaza Cup title, having previously won the trophy in 2016 and 2021.

Unnder the stewardship of coach David Mutono, Kyaggwe played in their first-ever final.

In the semi-finals, Kyaggwe eliminated Buwekula, while Buddu advanced after defeating Kyadondo over two legs to secure their spot in the title showdown.

Buwekula beat Kyadondo 3-1 in the earlier third place classification match.
