In a tightly contested Uganda Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon at Luzira, Maroons and NEC FC settled for a one‑all stalemate.

Both sides pressed high, yet the backlines held firm through the first half, leaving the scoreboard blank at 0‑0.

Ivan Asaba broke the deadlock in the 75th minute after a swift run from Mujahid Ogama set him up perfectly.

NEC equalised just two minutes later when Marvin Kavuma finished off Joseph Dhata’s exquisite delivery, leveling the match.

With the point, NEC now sit ninth on the log with 10 points (2 wins, 4 draws, 2 losses) from eight games.

Maroons occupy the 10th spot with nine points (2 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses).

Coach Badru Kaddu, who recently moved from Express to take charge of NEC’s technical bench, has faced a challenging start—four points from four games (one win, two draws, one loss).

NEC’s next test arrives on Friday, December 5, when they host reigning champions Vipers SC at Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
