Long time servant Orombi, three others named captains at Maroons FC

Maroons Football Club have named long time servant Ronald Orombi as their new captain a head of the 2024/25 season.

Orombi who has previously served the club as assistant captain has been elevated to the captaincy role replacing David Ndihabwe who joined Kitara FC in this recent transfer window after his contract with Maroons expired.

At the same time, Edward Kabona, experienced right back Dennis Rukundo and goalkeeper Simon Tamale were named immediate assistants respectively.

The Mohammed Ssenfuma coached Maroons have been a busy side in the transfer market to fill the void on the many departures.

Former SC Villa and JMC Hippos midfielder Ambrose Kirya, Bashir Mutanda, Ivan Mayanja, Ivan Asaba, Apollo Kagogwe, Hassan Matovu, Muwadda Mawejje, Rogers Kiwanuka, Ibrahim Juma Dada, Brian Omirambe and Jamal Ssemwogere are the warders’ new signings.

The prison warders will host UPDF FC in their StarTines Uganda Premier League opener on Sunday 15th September at the Luzira Prisons Grounds.
