Kumi holds UCU to a draw in Pepsi University Football League 2025-26 encounter
Kumi University continued their impressive form in the University Football League (UFL) 2025-26 season, holding Uganda Christian University (UCU) to a 1-1 draw at the UCU grounds in Mukono.
The visitors started strong, taking the lead in the 18th minute through Harry Abiti’s powerful strike.

Abiti’s goal gave Kumi University the momentum, and they continued to press the UCU defense.
Hamis Isabirye came close to doubling the lead in the 36th minute with a powerful shot that was palmed away by the UCU goalkeeper.

However, UCU fought back and equalized in the 26th minute through Saidi Muthir’s beautifully curling effort.
The goal sparked a series of attacks from both teams, with Kumi University coming close to taking the lead on several occasions.

The second half saw UCU push forward in search of a winner, but Kumi University’s defense held firm.
Peter Kyomuhendo’s long-range shot hit the woodwork, and Reagan Ssekisambu’s effort was cleared off the line by the visitors’ defense.
Despite the hosts’ strong charge in the final minutes, neither team could find the winner.

The draw extends Kumi University’s unbeaten run, while UCU will be disappointed to have dropped points at home.
The result sets the stage for Kumi University’s next challenge, as they look to build on their impressive form.
