
KU and UCU set for thrilling netball showdown in AUUS Games final
The stage is set for a thrilling netball final at the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games, as favourites Kampala University (KU) and hosts Uganda Christian University (UCU) face off in the championship decider.

UCU stormed into the final with a convincing 43-23 win over Makerere University, dominating the match from start to finish.
Coach Nelson Bogere praised his team’s performance, saying, “I am very happy that the girls displayed a masterclass performance again…
About the final, every team that reaches the final is good, Kampala University is equally a good team, with so many good players but I am also good so the one who will handle the game well will take the day.”

UCU captain Linda Muzigo echoed the team’s confidence, stating, “The fact that we’re going to finals, Our intention is to work as a team to do our level best such that we take the victory home since we’re at our home ground.”

Meanwhile, Kampala University secured their place in the final with a hard-fought 22-18 win over Nkumba University.
Captain Gloria Aya hailed the semifinal victory as a crucial preparation for the final, saying, “Semifinal against Nkumba was a very contest game, it was a good game, I think it has prepared us well for the final.”

Both teams topped their respective groups unbeaten and have momentum heading into the final, which takes place tomorrow, December 23, at Uganda Christian University in Mukono.
The winner will claim the AUUS Games Netball Championship title.
