The Uganda Premier League continued on Friday, 6th March 2026, with a series of thrilling encounters across the country, highlighted by Kitara’s late equalizer against Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and BUL’s emphatic demolition of Calvary.

At the Military Barracks Stadium in Bombo, UPDF and Kitara played out a 1-1 stalemate in a game that remained goalless for the first half.

The deadlock was broken in the 71st minute when mid-season signing Ivan Bogere put the hosts ahead.

However, Kitara responded in the 80th minute as Living Kabon converted a penalty after forward Muhammed Shaban was brought down in the box.

The draw marked UPDF’s fourth of the season, leaving them on 13 points from 19 matches, while Kitara climbed to 40 points, reducing the gap to league leaders Vipers to a single point.

Meanwhile, BUL delivered a masterclass against struggling Calvary at an intense encounter that ended 5-1 in favor of the visitors.

Isaac Wagoina stole the spotlight with a first-half hat-trick, complemented by strikes from Jeromy Kirya and Karim Ndugwa.

Emmanuel Ojok netted a consolation for Calvary, who now find themselves anchored at the bottom with just five points from 19 outings.

Elsewhere, Lugazi fell 2-0 at home to NEC in Najjembe. Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo’s double secured the victory for the visitors, who notched their seventh win of the campaign and sit on 30 points from 19 games.

With the league entering a decisive phase, Kitara’s persistence continues to mount pressure on Vipers, while BUL’s goal frenzy underlines the struggles of Calvary, and NEC’s steady form keeps them in striking distance of the top half.
