KCCA FC Edges Closer to 11th Uganda Cup Title with Semi-Final Win

KCCA FC has secured a spot in the 2025 Stanbic Uganda Cup final, following a 1-1 draw against Kataka FC in the semi-final second leg at Mbale Municipal Stadium.
The Kampala-based team sealed a 4-1 aggregate victory, thanks to their dominance in the first leg.
João Gabriel gave KCCA an early lead in the second leg, scoring in the first minute of the second half.
However, Kataka FC refused to give up and equalized in the 85th minute through Michael Olinga, capitalizing on a defensive lapse.
Despite James Mubezi’s late attempt to restore KCCA’s lead, Kataka goalkeeper Ronald Nsubuga made a brilliant save to deny him.
The draw was enough for KCCA FC, who will now face Vipers SC in the final, a repeat of the 2018 final held in Bukedea.
KCCA FC is targeting an 11th Uganda Cup title, while Vipers SC eliminated holders Kitara FC with a 2-0 aggregate win in the other semi-final.
The stage is set for an exciting final match between these two top teams.
