KCCA extends lead at the top of Uganda Premier League with a slim win over Buhimba United
KCCA FC has opened a five-point gap at the top of the Uganda Premier League log after a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Buhimba United at Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Tuesday.
The match was a tightly contested affair, with both sides struggling to find rhythm in the first half.

The breakthrough came in the 27th minute when Rogers Mugisha scored with a close-range effort, capitalizing on a rebound after goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba struggled to deal with Herbert Achayi’s powerful shot.
Buhimba United improved in the second half, pushing KCCA on the back foot and forcing goalkeeper Anthony Emojong to make a crucial save in the 57th minute.

Despite dominating possession, the visitors failed to find an equalizer, with KCCA’s defense holding firm to secure the win.
The introduction of Alex Yiga and Umar Lutalo in the 62nd minute brought a new dimension to KCCA’s midfield, but Buhimba United’s pressure continued to test the hosts’ defense.

The victory keeps KCCA on top of the log with 26 points after 11 games, while Buhimba United lies 14th with 10 points in 11 games.
