Defending champions Kawempe Muslim Secondary School will renew their rivalry with hosts Nkoma Secondary School in the girls’ football final of the 2026 Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) Solidarity Games, in what promises to be a compelling showdown in Mbale.

The highly anticipated final is scheduled for Monday morning, April 6th, at the iconic Mbale City Stadium, where Kawempe Muslim will be seeking to extend their remarkable dominance with an eighth consecutive title.

Nkoma Secondary School stormed into the final with an emphatic 3–0 victory over 2016 champions Masaka Secondary School in the semi-finals.

The hosts were inspired by a sensational performance from Sharifah Namukuve, who netted a clinical hat-trick at Mbale City Stadium to propel her side into the title decider in commanding fashion.

Kawempe Muslim, meanwhile, were made to work considerably harder for their place in the final.

They edged past their junior side, Kawempe Muslim Juniors, in a narrow 1–0 victory.

Belindah Hope Nabawanuka proved decisive once again, scoring the solitary goal of the match—her third of the tournament—to guide Kawempe into an astonishing eighth consecutive final.

The upcoming clash is a repeat of last year’s final, where Kawempe asserted their superiority with a convincing 3–0 win over Nkoma at Namagabi Secondary School Grounds.

On that occasion, goals from Agnes Nabukenya, Monica Nanono, and Kevin Nanyunja sealed yet another title in Kawempe’s era of sustained excellence.

Kawempe’s journey to this year’s semi-finals was equally authoritative.

They topped a three-team group with six points, registering commanding victories of 3–0 and 3–1 against Kakungulu Memorial Secondary School and Masaka SS respectively.

Nkoma, on the other hand, demonstrated consistency and attacking prowess in the group stage, overcoming Kawempe’s junior side, Kinaawa High School, and Kigumba Secondary School to progress as Group B leaders.

With history beckoning, Kawempe Muslim stand on the brink of completing yet another successful title defence.

However, backed by home support and buoyed by momentum, Nkoma Secondary School will be determined to script a different ending and dethrone the reigning champions on the grand stage.
