Kampala Queens thrash Olila as Uganda Martyrs claim first win

The fifth matchday of the 2025-26 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League concluded on Sunday with thrilling encounters.

Kampala Queens dominated Olila 5-0, Uganda Martyrs edged Makerere University WFC 1-0, and Rines shared points with St Noa in a 1-1 draw.

Kampala Queens secured a convincing 5-0 win over Olila at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Zaitun Namaganda, Kamiyat Naigaga, and Catherine Nagadya each scored in the closing minutes of the first half, giving the hosts a 3-0 lead at the break.

Joanitah Ainembabazi added a brace in the 70th and 80th minutes to seal the victory.

Naigaga’s goal took her tally to six in five matches, making her the league’s leading scorer.

In a hard-fought match at Makerere University, Uganda Martyrs edged hosts Makerere University WFC 1-0.

Brenda Munyana scored the decisive goal, handing Uganda Martyrs their first win of the campaign.

The result lifted Uganda Martyrs to eighth place on five points, level with Makerere University, who remain seventh due to a superior goal difference.

At the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso, Rines came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against newcomers St Noa.

Esther Babirye gave St Noa a first-half lead before defender Patricia Nanyanzi Nakato equalized from the penalty spot to earn Rines a share of the spoils.

St Noa sit fourth with six points, while Rines are ninth with four points and are still in search of their first win of the season.

She Corporate and Kawempe Muslim are joint leaders with 13 points, followed closely by Kampala Queens on 11 points.

The league is shaping up to be a thrilling competition, with several teams still in contention for the top spot.
