As women’s football in Uganda continues to grow, the 2022/23 league winners, Kampala Queens, have secured a mega sponsorship deal.

On Tuesday, 8th October 2024, at Jevine Hotel in Lubaga, Kampala Queens FC announced that Jonard Conglomerate Investments Limited will be their sponsor for the next two seasons.

In this mega sponsorship deal, Jonard Conglomerate Investments Limited has invested one hundred million shillings for the first season and the same amount for the second season, with discussions underway for additional years of sponsorship.

Speaking to the media, Jonard Asiimwe, proprietor of Jonard Conglomerate Investments Limited, explained why they chose to invest in Kampala Queens FC.

“I want to appreciate Kampala Queens FC for building a strong brand and being the best women’s football club in the country, both on and off the pitch. This was enough to convince us to come on board.”

“Our goal at Kampala Queens FC is to develop talents and create a conducive environment for girls to succeed in their careers,” Asiimwe stated.

“As Jonard Conglomerate Investments Limited, we are competitors and winners, and that’s what we expect from the Queens of Soccer.”

Kampala Queens FC Executive Committee member Patrick Ntege also discussed the sponsorship deal.

“Our target as a club was initially to give the girl-child a chance to play soccer. Now, our aim is to be the best women’s football club in the country and Africa, both on and off the pitch.”

“We will achieve these goals by having sponsors like Jonard Conglomerate Investments Limited, as we professionalize the game,” Ntege added.

“With no doubt, we are the best women’s club in the country, by far, but we want to do more professional things and attract other sponsors.”

“I thank the historical FUFA President, Engineer Moses Magogo Hashim, for professionalizing women’s football. This sponsorship deal proves the development of the game in the country,” Ntege concluded.

During the event, Kampala Queens FC unveiled their 2024/25 kit with Jonard Conglomerate Investments Limited’s logo on the jersey.

However, fan replicas are not yet available on the market, but the club will inform the public once they are available for sale.

This sponsorship deal is believed to be the largest club sponsorship deal in women’s football in the country and will not only benefit Kampala Queens FC but also help the league become more professional and attract more sponsors.

Kampala Queens FC currently sits fourth on the summit with four points collected from two games and will visit She Makerere FC this Saturday morning in their third league fixture.
