Kampala Queens FC off to Nairobi for CAF Women’s Champions League

In the early hours of Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Kampala Queens FC departed for Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers.

The team, led by coach Asefa Firew, is determined to make a strong impression in the competition and redeem themselves after a disappointing performance in their last appearance.

The Queens of Soccer have traveled with a 22-player squad, including a surprise inclusion of Crested Cranes custodian Daisy Nakaziro.

Nakaziro, who announced her departure from the club at the end last season, has trained with the team for only one day and she joins the squad to Kenya.

Despite the short notice, Nakaziro’s experience and expertise will undoubtedly be valuable assets to the team.

Kampala Queens will face stiff competition in Group A, alongside hosts Kenya Police Bullets and Eritrean side Denden FC.

The team will need to draw on their skills, strategy, and teamwork to overcome their opponents and progress to the next stage.
