The Buganda Kingdom Prime Minister (Katikiro), Charles Peter Mayiga, has confirmed that Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II will attend the 2025 Masaza Cup final between Ssingo and Buweekula at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.
The Katikkiro has urged the Kabaka’s subjects to attend the final in large numbers to welcome their monarch and watch the highly anticipated match.
“We call upon the people from Buganda Kingdom to come in huge numbers and welcome him as well as watch the final,” said Katikkiro Mayiga.
“His Majesty Kabaka has this morning returned back from England where he has been for official duties. He will grace today’s Masaza Cup final.”
Ssingo and Buweekula are set to face off in the final, with Ssingo looking to add to their two previous Masaza Cup titles.
Buweekula, and having never won the competition before, will be looking to make history.
The two teams have had different journeys to the final, with Ssingo dominating their group stages and Buweekula overcoming tough opponents in the knockout stages.
The Teams’ Road to the Final
Ssingo’s path to the final included wins over Mawokota and Bugerere, while Buweekula secured victories over Busujju and Kyaggwe in quarter and semi-finals respectively.
Both teams will be looking to capitalize on their momentum and secure the coveted title.
