The return of Uganda’s biggest football investor, Dr. Lawrence Mulindawa, to Mawokota FC has sent shockwaves of excitement throughout the Masaza Cup circuit.

As a three-time Masaza Cup champion, Mawokota is expected to be a formidable force this season, with a squad strengthened by quality signings.

The team has welcomed several talented players, including Amour Munogera, the 2024 Masaza Cup Most Valuable Player (MVP), who joins from Buwekula Ssaza FC.

Munogera’s impressive performances earned him a link with Vipers SC, but he has opted to join Mawokota instead.

Other notable signings include attacking midfielder Pius Ssebulime, midfielder Ssentongo Akbar, and South Sudan forward Mamur Irival.

Mawokota’s squad is further bolstered by the addition of wingers Bruno Mukwaya  and Katende Akram, who bring pace and skill to the team.

With a strong technical team in place, led by new head coach David Mutono, Mawokota is poised to make a deep run in the Masaza Cup.

Mawokota FC has a rich history, having won the Masaza Cup three times in 2005, 2007, and 2013.

They have been pitted in the Masengere group alongside Buwekula, Kyadondo, Bugerere, Buvuma, and Bulemeezi.

With their talented squad and experienced coach, Mawokota is expected to be a team to beat this season.

The stage is set for an exciting Masaza Cup tournament, with Mawokota FC looking to add to their trophy cabinet.

Will they be able to overcome the challenges and emerge victorious? The football world is eagerly anticipating the outcome.
