On a chilly Sunday evening at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Nansana Sub-Zone finals reached an exhilarating climax in front of a massive crowd.

Greenlight Islamic Secondary School – Nansana successfully defended their Nansana Sub-Zone title with a composed 2-0 victory over Oxford High School in a thrilling final.

Elvis Kimuli broke the deadlock in the 17th minute, calmly rounding the goalkeeper before slotting into an empty net to hand Greenlight an early lead.

They carried a 1-0 advantage into halftime, though discussions in the stands centered on several missed opportunities that could have extended their cushion.

Late in the second half, substitute Sudaice Ssemakalu—who had replaced Rojo Nsamba—made an immediate impact by setting up Mark Dandali for a simple tap-in, sealing an emphatic 2-0 triumph.

Greenlight’s path to the final was nothing short of dominant. They registered a flawless Group A campaign, winning all five matches, scoring 12 goals without conceding to storm into the quarter-finals.

There, they dispatched Highfield School of East Africa 2-0 before edging London College Nansana 1-0 in a tightly contested semi-final.

Oxford High School also enjoyed an impressive run to the final, winning all five of their group-stage matches while scoring 15 goals and conceding just once.

Their momentum continued with a 1-0 quarter-final victory over St. Augustine College.

In the semi-finals, they overcame Alliance High School 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a pulsating 2-2 draw in normal time.

In the third-place playoff, Alliance High School secured a 2-1 win over London College Nansana to claim the bronze medal.

Simon Madol and Douglas Lubwama found the net for Alliance, while Rahaman Arinda scored a late consolation for London College.

All four semi-finalists—Greenlight Islamic SS, Oxford High School, Alliance High School, and London College Nansana—have qualified for the Wakiso District/Zone championships scheduled to take place from 8th to 14th April in Kawanda.
