Under flashlights, St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende played host to the opening matches of the 2024/25 season precursor tournament, the FUFA Super 8.

The tournament opener was between holders BUL FC and Maroons in the day’s first game before hosts Vipers SC faced off with NEC.

BUL started their title defence with a 1-all draw against the warders, Maroons FC. The Jinja based side overcame URA FC to win last year’s crown.

Goals from Omirambe (Maroons) and Jerome Kirya for BUL FC were witnessed in the opener.

In the day’s last game, new Vipers SC tactician Nikola Kavazovic was absent on his would be official first competitive fixture since his arrival at St. Mary’s Stadium due to Malaria.

The home side Vipers SC played for a goalless draw with NEC FC. The two sides will face off in the return leg on Tuesday, the 6th August 2024.

Still under flashlights, Philp Omondi Stadium in Lugogo will host  match day two of the 2024/25 season precursor tournament, the FUFA Super 8.

The tournament opener was be between holders BUL FC and Maroons in the day’s first game before hosts Vipers SC faced off with NEC.

After day one action , the tournament will continue this Saturday, the 3rd with two games. Hosts KCCA FC will welcome Kitara FC while Uganda Premier League reigning champions SC. Villa face off with FUFA Select team.

All Saturday action will be at MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo – Kampala

KCCA FC will hope to revenge against last season’s home and away defeats to Kitara.

The game will server as a perfect test for Kitara ahead of the Caf Confederation Cup tie against Libya’s Al Hilal Benghazi.

In the last day’s tie, reigning league champions SC Villa take on a Uganda Cranes select, a side combining of the best of the league players and free agents whose teams didn’t make the top 7.

The game will be a reflection into SC. Villa’s readiness for the Caf Champions League.

This will also be Morley Byekwaso’s first competitive match as interim head coach in charge of the Jogoos since the departure of Dusan Stajanovic.
