FEASSA Girls Football: St. Noa Girls continue dominance with 4-0 win

Defending champions St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana have proven to be unstoppable at the ongoing Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Associations (FEASSA) girls’ football tournament.

On Sunday, August 17th, they staged a convincing 4-0 victory over Tanzania’s Alliance High School in their third outing.

Pacey forward Sylvia Kabene scored a brace, extending her tournament tally to three goals in this game.

Zainabu Birungi and gigantic forward Esther Babirye added to the scoreline with a goal each, sealing the victory for St. Noa.

This win follows their previous 0-0 draw with three-time champions Kawempe Muslim and a 6-0 thrashing of Rwanda’s PSBB Huye in their opener.

The emphatic win has moved St. Noa Girls to seven points in three games, setting them up for a thrilling encounter against Kenya’s Madira Girls tomorrow morning at Kakamega High School.

The match will be a closely contested affair, with the winner likely to take the Group A leadership.

St. Noa will then face Nasokol in their last group encounter on Tuesday.

St. Noa currently tops Group A on goal difference, tied on seven points with Kenya’s Madira Girls in second place.

Kawempe Muslim is third on five points, having registered their first win in the championship after previously drawing with Madira and St. Noa. Meanwhile,

Boni-Consili seems to be out of contention, having lost three consecutive games.

In Group B, Uganda’s Amus College leads on goal difference, tied on seven points with Kenya’s national champions Butere Girls, who occupy the second spot.

The competition is heating up, with top teams battling for supremacy in the FEASSA Games.
