FEASSA Games: St. Noa completes title defence with final emphatic win over St. Mary’s -Kitende

In an all-Ugandan affair, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana dominated St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende, winning the 2025 Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Associations (FEASSA) Games 5X5 girls’ basketball final 68-41.

The 27-point margin of victory capped off an impressive tournament run for St. Noa, who remained unbeaten in all seven games.

St. Noa’s dominance was evident throughout the game, winning all four quarters 15-9, 16-12, 17-12, and 20-8. This signature performance showcased the team’s exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination.

Thetitle win marked St. Noa’s third FEASSA championship, following victories in 2019 (Arusha, Tanzania) and 2024 (Bukedea, Uganda).

Under the stewardship of coach Abel Omoning, St. Noa has completed a remarkable sweep of championships this year, winning the All Stars Schools Basketball championship, Buganda Schools Competition, Wakiso District, USSSA National Championship, and the FEASSA trophy.

In the semi-finals, St. Noa labored past Butere in a 62-53 win, despite facing challenging umpiring.

Meanwhile, St. Mary’s Kitende squeezed past Rwanda’s ESB Kamonyi with a 68-54 victory.

The final was a repeat of the Wakiso District and National championship final, where St. Noa emerged victorious with 67-49 and 50-36 wins respectively.

Before the final, Kenya’s national champions Butere beat Rwanda’s ESB Kamonyi in the third-place classification tie to win the bronze medal.

St. Noa’s Championship Pedigree

As defending champions, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana came to this edition as holders having won the title by defeating Rwanda’s GS Marie Rennie 83-48 in in last year’s final at Amus College School in Bukedea.

With their convincing win, St. Noa has solidified its position as one of the top basketball teams in the region.
