
Express FC dominates Calvary in thrilling Uganda Premier League victory
In a resounding display of skill and strategy, Express FC secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Calvary FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Thursday evening.
The hosts dominated the match, with Richard Basangwa scoring the opening goal in the 25th minute, tapping home Peter Onzima’s delivery.
Calvary’s goalkeeper, Hadji Shukuru, made several impressive saves, including a crucial intervention in the 33rd minute, but ultimately, the visitors’ defense proved vulnerable.
Kagawa Ssenoga doubled Express’ lead in the 48th minute, converting a penalty awarded after a handball by Julius Ocen.
Ssenoga completed a personal brace in the 55th minute, tapping home from close range thanks to Onzima’s delivery.
Habert Assimwe sealed the win for Express in the 76th minute, calmly guiding the ball past the goalkeeper into the back of the net.
The victory propels Express to seventh place with 12 points from nine games, while Calvary remains at the bottom with only one point after eight games.
