Eric Obwana leads IUIU to emphatic victory over King Ceasor University

Forward Eric Obwana was the standout performer in Islamic University in Uganda’s (IUIU) 3-0 win over King Ceasor University in the Pepsi University Football League.

Obwana scored two headers in the first half, capitalizing on precise crosses from his teammates.

Obwana’s first goal came in the 16th minute when Emmanuel Shinkanga’s teasing cross was headed down by Faisal Mumali, and Obwana nodded it home.

Ten minutes later, Shinkanga delivered again, with Faraji Mugambe flicking on the ball for Obwana to double the lead with another header.

IUIU’s dominance was evident throughout the match, with Shinkanga’s pace and power on the left flank causing King Ceasor’s defense to struggle.

Despite King Ceasor’s efforts to change the game’s momentum after halftime, they couldn’t withstand IUIU’s attack.

The final nail in the coffin came when skipper Imam Shafik Kawooya stylishly back-heeled the third goal in the 67th minute, sealing IUIU’s biggest win since 2018.

This victory puts IUIU at the top of Group E with three points and a healthy goal advantage.
