In matchday five of the Startimes Uganda Premier League played on Friday evening, BUL FC secured their first victory this season, while Kitara failed to pick maximum points once again.

BUL FC narrowly beat URA FC 1-0 on the road in Nakivubo, while struggling Kitara FC fought hard to force a 1-1 draw with Mbarara City FC at Kakyeka Stadium.

This was Abbey Kikomeko side’s first victory in five games, beating URA FC at their home thanks to Pascal Ngobi’s rocket goal in the third minute of the game.

URA FC was denied a penalty after striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe was brought down in the box, but referee Oloya didn’t award the penalty to the Tax Collectors.

The win gives Kikomeko relief for his job and also helped his side jump from the relegation zone on goal difference to 12th position.

In the next game, BUL FC will visit desperate Kitara FC on Friday, 25th October 2024, while URA FC will visit UPDF a day before in Bombo.

In Mbarara, Kaddu equalized late to secure a point for Kitara as they played to a 1-1 draw with Mbarara City FC.

After a dull first half at a soggy Kakyeka Stadium, Ronald Edwok scored for the hosts in the 83rd minute before new signing Patrick Henry Kaddu equalized for the visitors at the death of the game.

The result means that Kitara have one win in five games this season, and only goal difference separates them from the relegation zone.

In the next game, Kitara will host BUL FC on Friday, 25th October 2024, while Mbarara City will be on the road against Soltilo Bright Stars on the same day.

Kyadondo breaks Buddo–Kitende final monopoly to set up historic Wakiso decider

History has been rewritten in the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Wakiso District boys’ football championship, as the long-standing final between fierce rivals Buddo Secondary School and St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School – Kitende will not materialize this year. For over a decade, the Wakiso final has been defined by the Buddo–Kitende rivalry. However, […]
