Buddo Secondary School were crowned champions of the Buganda Secondary Schools Netball Championship after defeating Light College Katikamu 25–16 in the final played on Saturday, March 15, 2026 at the Kawanda Secondary School Grounds.

Buddo SS produced a composed and commanding performance to overcome Light College Katikamu and secure their fifth Buganda Schools Netball Championship title.

The triumph also marks Buddo’s second trophy in three finals played this year, adding the Buganda Schools crown to the USSSA Elite Championship they already won earlier in the season.

However, the side narrowly missed out on a third title after losing the 2026 National Novice Netball Championship final to rivals St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School–Kitende in Bombo earlier this month.

Buddo’s road to the Buganda title was impressive. They topped their group unbeaten before easing past Merryland High School 16–07 in the quarter-finals. In the semi-finals, Buddo edged Kajjansi Progressive Academy 22–19 to book a place in the final.

On the other hand, Light College Katikamu reached the final after eliminating hosts Kawanda Secondary School 15–12 in the quarter-finals. They then defeated Light High School Sseguku 21–16 in the semi-finals to set up the decisive clash.

A total of 16 teams competed in this year’s championship.

Attention now shifts to the National Rally, scheduled to take place from March 26 to 28 at Kaddugala Secondary School in Masaka.
