Bruno Bunyaga’s brace inspires Ngabi Nsamba to Bika final, they face Mpindi
Ngabi Nsamba and Mpindi will face off in the 2024 Bika bya’Baganda football competition final after their semi-final triumph.
The semi-finals were held at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Sunday, the 2nd June.
The last semi-final duel was between Ngabi Nsamba and Omutima Musaggi. Ngabi Nsamba won the highly contested tie 2-1.
Fahim Ssaka scored for Omutima Omussagi while Bruno Bunyaga grabbed a brace for Ngabi Nsamba.
In the 50th minute, Fahim Ssaka gave Omutima Musaggi the lead with a clinical finish.
However, celebrations were short lived as forward Bruno Bunyaga levelled matters on restart of play
The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Bunyaga sealed his brace and a win for Ngabi Nsamba too late into the game to send Ngabi Nsamba to final.
In the first semi-final of the day, Mpindi eliminated Nkima by 1-0.
Ronald Sembuya’s 47th minute strike was enough for the two time champions Mpindi to storm this year’s final.
Mpindi won Bika shield in 1996 and 2006.
Meanwhile, Ngabi Nsamba have won this championship four times in 1951, 1987, 2007 and lately 2013.
This year’s final final will be held on 8th June 2024 at a Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
