The 5th Edition of the Inter-Islamic Schools (IIS) Games 2025 Netball has officially concluded at Madina Islamic Secondary School in Nsangi, Katereke.

In a thrilling Netball final, Madina Islamic emerged victorious over Greenlight Islamic Secondary School, winning 29-27 after extra time in an epic encounter.

Dramatic Final
The final match was a closely contested one, with Greenlight Islamic dominating the early stages.

However, Madina Islamic staged a remarkable comeback from three goals down (12-09) to force an extra extension, which they ultimately won to seal the title.

The normal time had ended 20-20 and Greenlight lost the battle 29-27 at the end of the game.

Semi-Final Results
In the semi-finals, Greenlight Islamic won convincingly against Mehan Aspire with a score of 23-07.

Madina Islamic, on the other hand, sailed into the final with a walkover after Hamdan Islamic Secondary School failed to show up.

Quarter-Final Highlights
The quarter-finals saw some impressive performances, with hosts Madina Islamic outclassing Bilal Islamic Secondary School (Bwaise) 22-05.

Holders Greenlight Islamic Secondary School – Nansana thumped Kampala Islamic 22-03 to reach the semi-finals.

Hamdan Islamic eased past TopTimes with a 22-04 victory, while Mehan Aspire squeezed past Dar-Salaam 12-07.

Tournament History
The Inter-Islamic Schools Games have a rich history, dating back to the first edition in 2019, which was unfortunately halted due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

The games resumed in 2022 with the second edition, and this year marks the 5th Edition.

Last year’s champions included Madina Islamic in football, Greenlight Islamic in netball, and Bugembe Islamic in volleyball.

Madina Islamic’s victory in the netball championship is a testament to their hard work and dedication.
