In a thrilling encounter on a soggy Lufuka Playground surface, holders Aidan College stunned Zana Mixed Secondary School to storm the Aggrey Zone 2025 Wakiso District Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys football National qualifiers final.

The match, played in front of a huge crowd on a wet Friday evening, March 28th, 2025, was a repeat of last year’s final, which ended 1-0 in favor of Aidan College.

The defending champions emerged victorious once again, winning 4-3 via penalties following a goalless draw in normal time.

The highly anticipated matchup between the two teams was well worth the wait, with both sides creating numerous scoring opportunities.

Aidan College’s victory sets up another highly anticipated matchup with the Zone’s giants, Standard High School-Zzana (STAHIZA), in the final.

STAHIZA reached the final by laboring past resilient Ndejje High School, perfectly revengeing their round of 16 loss in the recently concluded Kabaka Cup in Kawanda.

A long-range second-half strike by Mahad Mutegeki in the 50th minute gave the Sulaiman Mutyaba-coached STAHIZA a hard-fought 1-0 win in the semi-finals.

The stage is now set for a highly anticipated final, scheduled for Tuesday, April 2nd, 2025, at Lufuka Playground.

The day will also feature a third-place classification tie between Zana Mixed Secondary School and Ndejje High School, which will determine who takes the Zone’s third slot to the Wakiso District championship.

In the girls’ final, FEASSA champions St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana will face off against STAHIZA.
