
Masaza Cup: Buddu winless streak continues as Bugerere remains unbeaten
The 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup resumed with seven matches across three groups, showcasing exciting encounters between top teams.
In a highly anticipated match, record champions Gomba held reigning champions Buddu to a 1-1 draw at Kabulasoke Core PTC playground.
Buddu’s Dathan Mubiru opened the scoring, but Gomba’s Robert Ssewanyana equalized from a penalty mark.
Gomba’s goalkeeper, Julius Ssenyonjo, made impressive saves and was named Man of the Match.
This draw extends Buddu’s winless streak to three games.
Kooki Ssaza Football Club, the 2006 champions, secured a 2-1 home win over two-time champions Ssingo at the Kasambya playground.
Ssingo took the lead through Edrine Junior Owachgiu, but Kooki equalized with Peter Kyomuhendo’s goal before halftime.
Hassan Waiswa sealed the victory with a second-half goal, earning him Man of the Match honors and ending Ssingo’s six-match unbeaten run.
Ssingo are now second in Muganzirwazza group with 10 points, five less than leaders Kyaggwe.

– Buweekula’s Vital Win: Buweekula secured a 1-0 victory over three-time champions Mawokota at Mubende NTC playground, with Jimmy Kalema scoring the winning goal in the first half.
Buwekula now tops Masengere group on 16 points. Bugerere are second on 11 while Mawokota occupies the third position on 9 points.
– Busujju’s Double: Busujju completed a double over 2022 Masaza Cup champions Busiro, winning 1-0 at Setema Ssaza playground.
The win moved Busujju in the second position on a goals difference disadvantage tied on 14 points with group leaders Kyaggwe.
– Buluuli’s Win: Buluuli defeated Ssese 2-1 to record their third straight win. Peter Ssemyalo scored the winning goal.
– Bugerere’s Unbeaten Run: Bugerere stretched their unbeaten run to seven games with a 3-2 win over Kyadondo.
– Kabula’s Hard-Fought Win: Kabula secured a 1-0 victory over Mawogola, with Jonathan Katumba scoring the winning goal.
