Buddo SS and St. Mary’s Kitende crowned 2025 Wakiso District 3X3 Basketball Champions

Buddo Secondary School and St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende have emerged as the 2025 Wakiso District champions in boys’ and girls’ 3X3 basketball, respectively.
The tournament, which featured six teams in a round-robin format, commenced yesterday and concluded today, June 17th, at Gayaza High School in Wampeewo Zone.
Boys’ Championship
Buddo SS dominated the boys’ category, remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament.
In a thrilling finale, they edged out Mbogo Mixed Secondary School 17-09, securing the championship title.
Buddo’s impressive performance saw them finish top of the standings, ahead of Mbogo Mixed, who suffered a single defeat.
Girls’ Championship
In the girls’ category, St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende defied expectations to claim the championship title.
They defeated star-studded St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana 11-10 in a closely contested final.
Kitende had led Group A unbeaten before eliminating rivals Buddo SS in the semi-finals to reach the final.
St. Noa, on the other hand, topped Group B unbeaten and dispatched Zana Mixed Secondary School in the semi-finals.
Representation at Nationals
The four top-performing schools – St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, Buddo SS, and Zana Mixed Secondary School – will represent Wakiso District at the 2025 National Ball Games II championship in Tororo this July.
The tournament showcased the exceptional talent and skills of young basketball players in the district, and these four schools are expected to make a strong impression at the national level.
