Uganda Martyrs break winless streak with 2-0 victory over Lady Doves

Uganda Martyrs ended their six-match winless streak in the Women Super League with a 2-0 win over Lady Doves at the St. Gerald’s Stadium in Lubaga.

The victory marked a significant turnaround for Uganda Martyrs, who had struggled to find their footing in recent games.

Latifah Nakasi was the star of the show, scoring a second-half brace to seal the win for Uganda Martyrs.

Nakasi broke the deadlock in the 48th minute and doubled the lead in the 61st minute, taking her tally to four goals this season.

Her previous goals came in a brace against Amus College in November.

Despite the win, Uganda Martyrs had to finish the match with 10 players after Shivon Atuhaire was sent off for a second bookable offense in the 67th minute.

The win took Uganda Martyrs to 10 points from 10 games, although they remained in 9th place.

Lady Doves, on the other hand, dropped to 4th place with 21 points.

Uganda Martyrs will look to build on this momentum when they visit Olila High School in Soroti for their final game of the first round on Saturday, December 28.
