The goal seemed to be the winner for the tournament debutants, however, Merveille Kanjinga’s last minute gasp forced the encounter into extra time.

Early into the extra time, Comfort Folorunsho’s own goal gave Mazembe a 2-1 lead to completely dash the Nigerians’ concentration.

Marlene Kasaj sealed the victory for the Congolese side converted from a penalty mark.

The penalty was as a result of desperate attacks which resulted in rushed decisions and errors.

In the second semi-final, the Egyptians’ FC Masar fairy tale run was shut up in the CAF Women’s Champions League, failing to remain in contention for a dream continental title.

Safa Banouk sent the Moroccan side into the lead just 12 minutes after kick off.

Inside the 7 added time, Masar equalized through Maya Abouelwafa via a penalty.

However, two minutes later in the 9th added time, El Madani sealed the win for AS FAR to end the game 2-1.
