Kampala Queens players exodus see ten exits

Ten senior players are confirmed to leave Kampala Queens WFC this window as the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League champions takes a new face.

Former captain Zainah Namuleme, three time league MVP and 2016 Female footballer of the year Hasifah Nassuna and Lillian Mutuuzo are some of the big names leaving the club.

The others are Dorcus Nabuufu, Sophia Nakiyingi, Prima Mugidde, Florence Imanizabayo, Lukiya Namubiru, Damali Matama and Judith Sanyu.

The confirmation of the ten’s exit was communicated through the club’s official communication digital platforms.

The exit of a host of senior players calls for more new signings which will give the squad a complete new look.

The overhaul changes don’t only affect the playing staff, but also the technical bench.

Following a lame end of the 2023/24 season, head coach Charles Ayiekho “Mbuzi” Lukula was axed.

Kampala Queens finished second in the league after their 2-0 loss to season champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC at the Valley on the final day.

The Palace Queens garnered only 36 points, four behind leaders Kawempe.
