2022 FIFA U20 World Cup qualifiers: Hadijja Nandago strikes as Uganda edge Tanzania in a friendly tie

U20 Women’s National football team beat Tanzania U20 side 1-0 in the first of the two friendly games played on Thursday 9th December, 2021 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania.

The ongoing football activities are preparation steps for their next 2022 FIFA Women World Cup qualifiers and also part of the events to commemorate Tanzania’s 60 years of Independence. The Uganda senior men’s side the “Uganda Cranes” is also part of the events.

 

Hadija Nandago scored Uganda’s only goal which came in the 18th minute as the Ayub Khalifa coached side bagged a 1-0 victory over hosts.
The two side shall meet for a second friendly game on 11th December, 2021.

The Uganda U20 Women’s National Football team and Tanzania are preparing for their upcoming second legs of the third round of the ongoing 2022 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

Uganda and Tanzania will shortly face off with South Africa and Burundi respectively. Uganda beat South Africa 1-0 at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende while Tanzania overcame Burundi 3-2 at Azam Sports Complex in Tanzania.
