Kampala Queens Consolidate Second Spot with Hard-Fought Win Over Tooro Queens

Under the scorching Saturday sun, Kampala Queens secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over Tooro Queens, while She Makerere and Olila HS WFC settled for a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
In Lugogo, Zainah Nandede and Shamirah Nalugya scored a goal each to propel Kampala Queens to a crucial three points. Atuhaire Masitulah netted the consolation goal for Tooro Queens.
Kampala Queens’ goals came in the 12th and 28th minutes, while Tooro Queens pulled one back in the 35th minute.
The victory enabled Kampala Queens to maintain their grip on second place, trailing table leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC by just two points.
Tooro Queens, on the other hand, find themselves only one point above the relegation zone.
They will face Amus College in their next fixture, while Kampala Queens will embark on a road trip to face She Maroons.
In Makerere, Rebecca Nakasato salvaged a point for the hosts with a late equalizer from the penalty spot. Initially, defender Docus Lwalisa had put the visitors ahead, but Nakasato’s header ensured a share of the spoils.
Olila HS WFC remains entrenched in the relegation zone with four points, while She Makerere occupies eighth place with 10 points.
In their next fixtures, Makerere will visit Uganda Martyrs, while Olila will host Wakiso Hill in Soroti.
